Making Me Smile

This was one of those days when I put puttered around moving a lot of things and fixing up random things.  Most of it is not very photogenic but I did want to share some parts that are making me happy.

I love this corner of our front porch.

Watching the little girls spend hours at the desk in our playroom/classroom makes me happy.

I don't know why but the window ledge in our homeschool resource room makes me smile.

So glad we found our homeschool calendar and all its parts!

The pumpkins on our breakfast table makes feel all in the mood for the season.

So Much

It was a busy day today and I feel like I got so much done.

I finished the room that I am calling my homeschool resource room.  I am so pleased with it!!

I made a pasta sauce for supper from tomatoes from the tomatoes from our greenhouse.

And we decorated for Halloween.   The little girls were mostly in charge and had so much fun.

Finally!

I have to say, this is the first time I have ever felt like I really feel like this (and really really hope that this) is our final destination.  We have lived here just one week and when we pull up into the driveway, I breath a sigh of relief that we are home.

As the pictures I have shared show you, this house is beautiful and large and wonderful but there is so much more than that to love.

Every store we go to is friendly, chatty, and helpful.  LOL  Little Prince was with us at a grocery store and he started to get upset (as autistic kids will sometimes do).  One of the cashiers recognized that he had autism and went into the back and got him a piece of cake to enjoy while we shopped!!!!

I love all the little shops and I love all the people who are so quick to welcome us the neighbourhood.  Everybody we meet is curious in a friendly way and they want to know who we are, where we are from and where we are living now.  When we tell them, they are quick to tell us stories about our home!  That was so thoughtful.  We have discovered that this 120 year old house was a restaurant about 30 years ago and we even me someone who used to work here!  We have seen cute a little variety store, two great grocery stores with reasonable prices, and cafe's and other places.

The scenery here is breathtaking every where I go and it is all I can do not to pull the car over every five minutes so that I can get out an take another picture.  And because it is fall, the trees are just beautiful with so many pretty colors all around us.

I truly love everything about living here and I hope this is the place my children get to grow up.

Harvesting

We have been having some fun harvesting goodies off of our land.  The tomatoes growing in our greenhouse make me so happy and the apples growing on our tree are wonderful!

Prince Charming and Princess Belle picked us some apples.

Then Prince Charming and the little girls picked some tomatoes.

I made 2 large bottles of salsa with the tomatoes. YUM!

The leftover tomatoes look lovely sitting next to the pumpkin we bought today.

The Kids Were Happy With This One

Today I got a good start on the playroom/ classroom.  I need more shelving and toys storage but I am happy with where it is so far.

This is looking from the classroom to the playroom.

This is looking from the door of the playroom to the classroom.

This is the TV watching nook

This is the little kitchenette.  It could use a coat of paint.

This is the toy storage.  It is all sorted, believe it or not.

This is the classroom. I haven't hung the chalkboard yet and I have pictures and things for the walls (here and in the playroom).

Well That's Another One Done.

Today I tackled the playroom/classroom and the dining room.  I still have a little ways to go in the playroom/classroom, but I am really pleased with the dining room.   I haven't gotten my pictures up, but the main peices are mostly where they are going to be.

Catching Them

I love watching my girls and Little Prince interact.  It is so sweet to see them enjoying each other.   I can sometimes catch it know video over breakfast when Little Prince is actually still LOL.

One down, so many to go

I worked all day today unpacking and organizing my kitchen and pantry.  I don't have all my pictures up, but it had really come together.

This is a shelf I added to my pantry.

This is my pantry cupboards with my bread box and spices on the counter.

This is the cupboards open.

This is where I keep our dishes with all our appliances stored on pullout shelves below.

This is our counter

This my little coffee station, the basket contains coffee pods.  I would like to hang a couple of cute cups from the shelf.

I think it looks lovely and organized.

I'm Loving It.

As I work to dig us out of boxes, I am struck by the beauty of the trees surrounding us.  This tree keeps catching my eye.  The orange is so pretty!

The girls are having fun finding things they can use to decorate their rooms.  They are loving having their own space to be but it is cute to see how much the little girls miss each other at night.  It will take a little getting used to.

This is how Princess Snifflefritz has decorated.

Princess Belle has settled in pretty well

Princess Magpie still needs a few of the things I have picked out for her.
